Airport Update: Mayor Lee's Statement on Asiana Airlines Crash at SFO

Sfo2013Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement on this morning’s airline incident involving Asiana Airlines Flight 214 at San Francisco International Airport (SFO):

“On behalf of the people of San Francisco, I would like to offer my thoughts and prayers to those affected by the airline accident this morning involving Asiana Airlines Flight 214 from South Korea. We are deeply saddened by this incident, and our hearts are with the friends and families of all those affected who are here in our City, in the Republic of Korea, in the People’s Republic of China and those around the world. I have contacted the Consulates of China and Korea to offer our City’s sympathy and support. I have offered the full resources of our Airport and our public safety agencies to the National Transportation Safety Board as they thoroughly investigate this incident. The passengers and their families remain our first priority, and we will continue to provide them with the support they need.”
