San Francisco Awarded Gold Walk Friendly Community

San Francisco Awarded Gold Walk Friendly Community Mayor Edwin M. Lee and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) announced that San Francisco has been designated as a Gold Walk-Friendly Community by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center for the City’s walkability initiatives and programs. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, Walk Friendly Communities is a national recognition program that recognizes communities for their commitment to pedestrian safety.  

“San Francisco is proud to receive this designation as a Gold Walk-Friendly Community,” said Mayor Lee. “From Sunday Streets to audible pedestrian signals to Pavement to Parks, San Francisco continues to find ways to make walking safer and more enjoyable for all San Franciscans.” Read more.
