San Francisco Is Only City in the United States with “Official Participant Status”; San Francisco Showcases Cultural Icons and “Green & Sustainable” Business Practices

Mayor Gavin Newsom officially kicked off “San Francisco Week” at the 2010 World Expo by officially opening the San Francisco Exhibit in the Expo’s Urban Best Practices Building.

As Shanghai’s Sister City, San Francisco was asked to participate in the World Expo 2010. San Francisco was named as an “official city participant” in 2009, the only City in the United States to receive this designation.
